Pears in Citrus Sauce

  • 6 Large pears (must be ripe)
  • 4 Table spoons honey
  • Juice of two oranges
  • Rind of one of the oranges
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • A cup of water

Use only ripe pears as hard ones don't soften when cooked.

Wash the pears then prick the skins in a few places.

Place in an oven proof dish.

Combine the other ingredients in a small pan and heat gently until honey is runny.

Pour over the pears.

Place in an oven set to 180c for about an hour.

Check occasionally that liquid hasn't evaporated!
